Roussillon - Luberon - June 6

Yes, I know this part of my blog is out of order - May 22 then June 6?!  Not being an expert in computer and camera technology, I have run into a problem I thought might crop up.  As I began downloading my pictures from my Sono cybershot camera to my Apple Air laptop, I wasn't sure if I was doing it right and I saved the pictures in the camera as well rather than deleting them.  Later, I tried to upload more pictures I had on the camera and told the camera to hide the ones I had already downloaded.  As I was making a blog entry, I discovered that some of the pictures from earlier in the trip had been overlaid by the pictures from Roussillon.  So, it seems I may have two copies of some pictures and none of others.  Oh dear!  Not sure I'll get out of this mess, but here are my pictures from Roussillon.  It is, however, not a matter of life and death.  Many of these images will remain in our memories.

This town is also on the list of "most beautiful villages," because of it's ocre color - in the cliffs as well as in the stone that was used to construct the town.  The area used to be an ocre mine.

As we walked through the town, we came upon a couple standing at their door with an adorable puppy of three months.  Of course I couldn't resist picking up adorable puppies.  We chatted a few minutes while puppy chewed on my arms and tried to give all sorts of kisses.

Then Monsieur walked with us up into the center of town to see the ocre cliffs that are now protected although ocre continues to be extracted from a nearby town.
