May 22 - On the way to Astaillac: Autoire

Leaving Rocadamour for Astaillac was the opportunity to visit some more of the beautiful small old villages off the beaten tourist route in the Department of Lot.  The first was Autoire.

There was a walk in the woods to go to a cascade, but it proved a little too rough for us.  We took note of a concert that would be played that evening, but knew we would not be able to attend as we had to move on.

Autoire is a small, medieval town with few tourists.  I think it as yet somewhat undiscovered.  Just as we were about to get into the car, I noticed the geology of the place.  Brought me back to my observations of Vermont geology in a course I took many years ago.

To the left is a different kind of clothes hanger.  I think most people don't use dryers though the combo washer-drying seems popular.

To the right an owl adorns the roof

To the right, an annoucement of the concert we wouldn't be able to attend.
